USAF BAND SOARS INTO THE GARDENS OF THE WORLD

(Thousand Oaks, CA)  For the sixth time, the Hogan Family Foundation’s Gardens of the World is hosting the award-winning United States Air Force (USAF) Band of the Golden West in a free concert to be held Saturday, February 18 at 2 p.m.  The band last played at the Gardens of the World in 2009, generating a record audience of 1,200 people who enjoyed a rousing performance.

The hour-and-a-half concert will feature an array of musical selections that include military marches, jazz and pop arrangements, Broadway standards, and, of course, patriotic music.  The presentations will also show off the talents of instrumental soloists and vocalists.

Marianne Coulson, resident manager of the Gardens of the World, notes, “We are very pleased to have the USAF band visit us again this year.  They always bring an enthusiastic, crowd-pleasing performance with something for every musical taste.  The free event is an excellent choice for family entertainment.”

The Golden West Concert Band is a select group of professional Airmen-musicians who support the global Air Force mission by providing outstanding musical performances for military and community relations events and by fostering America’s national heritage.  Touring throughout the western states, the acclaimed band is the largest ensemble within the organization and has entertained thousands of listeners in live concerts and through international radio and television appearances, often collaborating with some of America’s top conductors.
The Gardens of the World is located at 2001 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.  Free parking is available along the Boulevard and across the street at the Civic Arts Plaza.

Lawn seating is available in front of the American Bandstand, where the concert will be performed.  Blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets are welcomed; however, alcoholic beverages, smoking, glass containers, and pets are not allowed.

Thank you so much BBN

donated over $200 to My Stuff Bags! Mrs Stephens’ 5th grade class was able to go to My Stuff Bags to help out! You helped so many foster children! We made over 600 goodie bags! We worked as a team to make small bags for kids at rapid speed.  Then we tied blankets for kids to love and hold on to.  The adults helped seal the bags.  We took lots of photos! We all learned that it is better to give than to receive. THANKS AGAIN FOR FUNDING OUR TRIP AND HELPING OTHERS!
